Knowing Your Demographic

Before doing any marketing, you must know what demographic you are aiming for. If you choose to work with school events, then you must identify who you want to understand your message.

Know what products they like, what their problem is then solve it, where they shop, their favorite restaurant, where their favorite vacation place is, and what your ideal client enjoys the most so when you write your copy, they identify with you.

Know your target demographic, so you can better mold your marketing strategy to gather their business and direct your message to the target market.

Expanding Online

Writing helps to expand your online presence. When writing blogs, you must be consistent with keeping your ideal client engaged.

Your blogs must tell a story of what you are an expert on and be clear and descriptive to create interest in the reader.

  • Hook: Promotions starts with a hook. It is an opening statement to attract the reader’s attention so they will want to know more. The first sentence is critical to grab their attention. 
  • Follow with a story: The story must come from empathy and authority. For example, you want to tell your ideal client that you understand them because you have been there.

        You know their pain because you have been in their shoes. Talk a bit about your pain, so they identify with you. Once they are focused on your story, tell them about your product and how it will give them the result they need to solve their problem.

        Authority is how you reach the other side and how life looks like today. Tell your demographic why they can trust you. Validate it with credibility, share certification, education, number of hours you have spent researching the subject, books you have read, and how many years it took to make you an expert.

  • Offer: At this moment, you present your offer. Never talk about price but rather talk about value. This is because of the nature of people. When they hear the price, they lose interest.

        Once you tell them about the value, they will get connected with your product and finally invite them to take action by including the link where they can pay for your product. Here is where you will make the sale.

    Make sure your speech is short. This is so your audience is engaged.

    Use emotions, people respond very well to feeling and don’t forget to be persuasive. Your product is the highlight of your marketing, so talk about your products and benefits.

    Don’t talk about price but the value they will get from your product and don’t forget to include a link that will take your ideal client to buy your product.

    S Corporations

    When your business is growing, it is essential to consider making your business into an s corporation. It is one of those special technical tips that will increase your profit.

    This is done so that you can give yourself a salary in the s corp. You can use this salary as a deduction in your s corps taxes. I suggest doing further research on this subject because this is more of legal terms.

    This small change in your business plan can significantly impact your earnings.

    That is the only way you can discover their needs and wants. By listening, you will have all the answers to their question. Never interrupt them when they are talking but take notes.

    Many people say I don’t know why my prospective clients do not book me. The answer is that you talk too much and make them feel unimportant. I have used this method for years and it always works.

    Increasing Inventory

    Once you have three to six months of statistical data measuring how your products and services have sold, then you can focus on increasing your attention to what has been successful and gain inspiration for new products and services from their success.

    Transporting The Floral Design

    One of the most challenging moments is transporting the floral design already made to the final location. If you are working in a large-scale event, then it is essential to plan the mode of transportation then pack and transport the designs to arrive in one piece.

    How many trucks or cargo vans are needed, and how many trips you will have will be necessary to transport all the decor properly. If you do not take time to focus on planning it, then you can ruin all the flowers.

    If not done right, and the design comes apart, then it will be time-consuming to redo it again. It is essential to work on this task at least a month before the event.

    I recommend you rent a box truck high enough to put rolling racks holding the designs and wrap the metal racks with shrink wrap so they are safe.

    Managing your time correctly and effectively is essential when running a floral business. Be sure to prioritize your tasks to run your business better and effectively.

    For example, take time aside every day to ensure your flowers are well taken care of. If you spend too much time cleaning the cooler or the work area, then your inventory could suffer if you don’t commit time to care for your flowers.

    So you need to prioritize and delegate. If you plan to cater to the celebration industry, you must know how to manage your time.

    For example, if you have a very detailed and grand event, your time must the managed smart so you are not late and will not still be setting up while the guests are arriving or start the design too late and be rushing at the last minute to have it done.

    With proper time management, your business can run much more smoothly and you will build an excellent reputation.

    Non-Negotiables

    As a business owner, there are some things you do not want to negotiate, such as your prices. You are an expert and what you charge is essential to you to keep your business moving forward.

    If you are not an expert with numbers or don’t enjoy this part of your business, then hire an accountant to do what they do best to help you focus on something that you are good at.

    Family time is a crucial non-negotiable. As an entrepreneur you will likely not have enough quality time to spend with your family, therefore put aside a day of time to be 100% focused on your family. Non-negotiables are essential to you.
